Kgalagadi, March 2005
Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park is a large (38 000 square kilometres) wildlife reserve and conservation area in southern Africa, straddling the border between South Africa and Botswana. Kgalagadi means "place of thirst." The terrain consists of red dunes, sparse vegetation, occasional trees, and the dry riverbeds of the Nossob and Auob Rivers.
